Pill Roulette started as a simple concept: create a game that combines chance, strategy, and a unique theme that would stand out from other browser games. What began as a weekend project quickly evolved into something more complex and engaging.

The Inspiration

The idea came from thinking about simple but addictive game mechanics. We wanted something that was easy to understand but had enough depth to keep players coming back. The "roulette" concept felt perfect because it inherently creates tension and excitement.

The medical/pill theme was chosen because it allowed for a wide variety of visual assets and effect types. Each pill could have a unique appearance and different effects, creating a diverse gameplay experience.

Development Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was balancing the game difficulty. We spent weeks adjusting the probability of different pill effects to ensure the game was challenging but not frustrating.

Creating the visual style was another challenge. We wanted the game to have a clean, modern look while still conveying the medical theme. After several iterations, we settled on the colorful pill design that you see in the game today.
